Dear Parents and Carers,
HEALTHY SNACKS
Last year during our Alive and Kicking topic we learnt about the importance of eating five portions of fruit or vegetables a day and how our brains need lots of water to work at their best! Governors recently reviewed our snack time arrangements and agreed to continue with our current policy of only allowing fruit or vegetables as a snack at break-time. We are part of the Fruit and Vegetable Scheme which provides free fruit daily for all children in Reception and Key Stage 1. Children in Key Stage 2 should be encouraged to bring their own fruit / vegetable snack each day for break time.
Please also ensure your child has a water bottle with them in school each day.
E-NEWSLETTERS
In support of the schools eco-ethos, I am keen to introduce a system where parents and carers receive school newsletters electronically. The software will be installed this week to allow the Office to extract parents' email addresses directly from our school database. If we currently hold your email details, the next newsletter, due to be published on Monday 7th December will be electronic! You will receive an email with a link that will take you directly to the newsletter on the school website. If you do not have an email address we will, of course, continue to send a printed copy home in your child's book bag. The most recent newsletter can always be found in the outside notice board and further copies are always available from the trays outside the school office.
