Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us for our Numeracy Evening on Tuesday. Hope you all found the evening interesting and informative. It would be really useful for us, in planning future information evenings, to receive feedback from those who attended. Please let us know your thoughts on the reply slip attached.

School Security
Please could I remind all parents who use the back gate on to the school site that the gate MUST be kept locked at all times. Thank you for your co-operation.

After-school Clubs
We would like to consult parents on the type of after-school clubs you would like us to offer to your children. Please complete the return slip with any suggestions or ideas.

Hockey Club
Tuesdays 3.15 – 4.15
Premier Sport will be running an after school Hockey Club on Tuesdays next term. There will be 8 sessions starting on Tuesday 30th October at a cost of £24 for the term (£3 per session). Enrolment forms attached.

Governor News
It is with regret that the Governing Body has received resignations from Patricia Rush and Ann Edney. Our thanks to them both for their time and commitment as School Governors and we wish them well for the future.

We are pleased to welcome two new governors to our Governing Body:
Tina Tarbrooke and Rev. Roly Sims.

Capoeira Club
We are hoping to run this very popular club again in the near future.
For new parents; Capeoira is a great mix of fun, music, singing, dancing and martial arts. Team work and nurturing are encouraged and Capoeira builds confidence and self discipline and is a great form of exercise. It is NOT in any way an aggressive martial art, participants ‘play’ at Capeoira.

The Club is open to all children including Reception and will cost £20.00 for 10 sessions. Please indicate on the reply slip if your child would be interested in attending a Capoeira Club.

Dance Workshops
We are delighted to welcome Claire Hill from Take Art who will be visiting us next term to work with the Reception Children on a project entitled ‘Alive & Ticking’. Dance workshops will run for 6 weeks on Tuesday mornings during the school day and are free of charge!

Children in Need
Friday 16th November
Mufti Day!
Children are invited to come to school in their own clothes and will be asked to make a £1 donation to Children in Need.

‘Amazing Water’ – Frome Library Event
Life would not exist on planet Earth without water. So what makes water so special? Children aged 8-12 can find out in Frome Library at 11 am on Saturday 20th October in the Amazing Water! event. Led by presenter and local author Trevor Day, this one-hour presentation is based on Trevor’s latest book for Dorling Kindersley, See for yourself: Water. Join Trevor on a journey from the origins of water on this planet, to today’s water and you. Amazing Water! will be interactive, with video footage and plenty of props.

Those buying tickets in advance can answer a quiz about water and enter a competition to win a signed copy of Trevor’s book See for yourself: Water.
