Dear Parents and Carers,
MULTICULTURAL WORKSHOP
The 'Multicultural Storytelling' workshop will be visiting school on Friday 12th March. With Gloria Lawrence's vibrant storytelling skills and accompanying music provided by Roger Camsey, the workshop will provide the children in all three classes with an unforgettable experience.
SICKNESS BUG
Unfortunately, we are experiencing a high number of absences due to a sickness bug. Just to remind parents that the guidance on infection control in schools produced by the Health Protection Agency recommends children should be kept away from school for 48 hours from the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting. Thank you.
PLANT MOVING SATURDAY
Saturday 20th March
Please remember to return your slip to the office if you are able to help move all our lovely plants in readiness for construction work to start on our new classroom in April.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
Unfortunately, our after school club leaders have reported that there have been some incidents of inappropriate and disruptive behaviour amongst children attending clubs. Mrs Tommey has discussed with all children attending clubs behaviour expectations. Club Leaders have been advised to write the names of any children who are disruptive in their club on the whiteboard in the Hall. Mrs Tommey checks the board each morning, if a child's name appears on the board three times for any one club, in a term, they will be asked to forfeit their place at that club for the rest of the term.
EDUCATION MUSIC EVENT IN FROME
Saturday 20th March
Frome Symphony is presenting a special concert, designed particularly for children aged between 6 and 12 years, to introduce them to classical orchestral music. The event takes the form of a fun, participative musical 'world tour', with excerpts from film music and popular classical favourites.
The concert will be presented by Julie Payne, a highly experienced musician and animator, with an impressive background in delivering music educational projects. The conductor will be Frome Symphony's music director, Mark Gateshill.
Entitled 'Around the World in 80 Minutes', the event takes place in Holy Trinity Church, Frome on Saturday 20 March at 5 p.m., to finish at around 6.30 p.m. For ticket information visit www.fromesymphony.org.uk
HOW CAN WE IMPROVE PARENT CONSULTATION MEETINGS?
Thank you to everyone who returned a questionnaire. In response to your comments we are planning to hold new and improved parent consultation meetings in early April. Details to follow next week.
