This enthusiastic group meets regularly to plan and organise events throughout the year to raise funds for school. Recent events include our Summer Fayre, 1980s Disco, Christmas Craft Fair, Scarecrow Trail and Murder Mystery Evening. FORS have helped us to purchase our Giant Sandpit, Outdoor Classroom, picnic benches, 15 laptop computers, a P.A. system, early years play equipment, books to support the National Literacy Strategy, a TV / video and help with the multi-sensory track. FORS also paid for our 'Is it Playtime' project with actor Annabelle MacFadyen.
The additional equipment that FORS aims to provide is for the benefit of all our children. The success of FORS is dependent on a commitment from all parents and carers and our friends in the wider community - so please support the school through FORS.
FORS Meetings
The Friends of Rode School usually meet in the evening, on the second Tuesday of every month within term-time. Meetings are usually held either at The Crosskeys, High Street, Rode, BA11 6NZ or at The Mill at Rode, Rode, Somerset, BA11 6AG. Confirmation of the location of the meeting can be found either on the chalk board in the school grounds outside the entrance to the Hall, or on the School's Online Calendar found on the Diary and Events page of the website.
Topics discussed at these meetings include requests for funds, financial details, current event plans and ideas for future fund raising activities.
