Rode School Trip to Farleigh Castle - 12th June 2008

As we have been studying castles in our curriculum, we thought that it would be a good idea to take some of the younger children down the road to the very famous remains of Farleigh Castle. This turned into a wonderful day out, and the children of Rode School were able to learn all about medieval times, and even got the chance to find out just how heavy chainmail really was, by trying on a child-size outfit. It certainly was heavy!

The day was rounded off with some archery practice and then a lovely picnic in the grounds. Thank you Farleigh Castle for making us so welcome.
