By 2020 the Government in England would like all schools to be sustainable.
Eco-Schools is an award programme which helps in making children aware of enviromental and sustainability issues. This can be done via education in classrooms or as part of actions within the community.
As part of the scheme schools must identify what effect they are having on the environment, what they are doing well and also have action plans on how to improve.
There are three award levels:
- Bronze
- Silver
- Green Flag
As part of the Eco-Schools programme the school has formed a Committee which usually meets on the third Thursday of each month, at 8pm in the Cross Keys unless otherwise stated.
